Vermouth del Professore is produced by collaboration between Federico Ricatto, Carlos Quaglia and the Jerry Thomas Speakeasy in Rome. Jerry Thomas was a pioneering American 19th century bartender, considered to be the original mixologist and nicknamed "The Professor" and this vermouth is a homage to him.

Nose
Bitter green leaves and rich, sweet orange-blossom-infused sugar syrup. Dry, herbal notes build: sage and bay leaf. Gentle spice follows along with lemon and orange peel.

Palate
Sweet and leafy. A pure, sweet, syrupy centre is surrounded by mixed leady herbs. Bitter liquorice pastels are balanced by orange muscat dessert wine.

Candied lemon, orange jeely, bitter orange pith.

Complex and rich. Great chilled from the fridge or with a single ice cube to lighten it a little bit.

A really impressive vermouth with a really interesting back story. One of my all time favourite vermouths. Love the subtle marshmallow flavour.

Tried yesterday on a negroni and for that price Antica Formula does a much better job!
