Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Simon Difford for Class Magazine

    • Appearance

Clear, mid golden with polished golden glints.

    • Aroma

Lemon citrus zest, honey, sweet oloroso, sticky hot-cross-bun and poached pear.

    • Taste

Slightly sweet, well rounded, honeyed, biscuity malt with gentle spice.

    • Aftertaste

Burnt macaroon-like notes to a honeyed malty finish with gentle toasted spicy oak. All too quaffable and easy.

    • Diffordsguide rating

      4.5/5.

  • Producer's Tasting Notes

    • Colour

      Rich Gold

    • Nose

Traces of sweet oloroso with sweet malt that overpowers the clean grain.

    • Taste

The malt moves freely around the palate picking up sweet honey notes. The grain comes into play a little later to form a smooth middle.

    • Finish

The dryness persists with some genuine woody oak tones coming through.
