Smooth easy drinking but not interesting enough to warrant the extra cost when compared to JB White Label.

This one was a grower on me. First I was like nah this is not good. But after almost a full bottle down I'm enjoying it. I expected it to be like normal Jim but it's not. The tasty initially is harsher. And as I say you get used to the flavour and its very nice. No longer a harsh whisky. If you fancy something a little different, this is the one. I drink it like an American; lots of ice only. Enjoy!

Very disappointing. Too harsh and not worth the premium price attached to it: Buffalo Trace and Wild Turkey in the next price bracket down are far better Bourbons. Don’t understand how it got such high ratings?

I bought this rye whiskey a few days ago, I was hesitant at first, because I usually buy single barrel Woodford Reserve, which is an absolutely wonderful whiskey. However, I was a little curious and a little tighter on money this week, so I decided to give Jim Beam Rye a try. To my surprise, I've actually enjoyed it very much. Obviously it has that Jim Beam familiarity to it. It's very spicy and peppery, with hints of vanilla, some cherry, a softer but noticable flavor of white oak. All around not a bad whiskey at all, I'd definitely buy this again for a camping trip, or small bonfire with friends. I give Jim Beam Rye, a four out of five.

My first impression of this whiskey was that I'd left the ice too long before my first sip, but having gone back for seconds straight up it becomes obvious that this is a smooth sippin' whiskey. There's a familiar spicy edge in the initial hit, but that quickly fades. The mouth feel also feels a little thinner than other examples in the class like Jack Daniels Rye and Bulliet Bourbon Rye. For the price, it's a good buy, and it mixes well with either a lime tonic water or ginger ale. In summary, a great whiskey for novices or your grandma but leaves a serious drinker wanting something more complex
