Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting notes from the producer

    • Nose

Gentle wood smoke with a hint of sappy pine. A splash of sea spray and a hint of earthiness follow, layered of salted lemons and grapefruit zest.

    • Palate

Ashy smoke, sweet peat and hint of TCP wash across the palate – the cask influence is clear. Spice builds: cinnamon heat and sweet nutmeg. Fresh bandages and tarry touches develop when you least expect them to, giving a dark bed for the lighter notes to dance across. Liquorice rolls around the bottom.

    • Finish

Ashy and minerally notes fade to chocolate, liquorice and salted caramel.

    • Comment

It's no surprise where the cask used to mature this whisky came from. Ardmore's classic smokiness is amplified with a slice of Islay character.
