Tasting notes by Billy Abbott (The Whisky Exchange)
Nose: Barley sugar and candied lemon peel with a background of farmyard spiciness: damp hay and earthy spice. Honeysuckle and meadow-flower notes develop, with touches of crunchy toffee apples and apple boiled sweets.
Palate: Sharp apple, rye bread and sweet butter to start. There's a gentle, earthy spiciness underneath, with cinnamon and anise occasionally poking their heads above the parapet. Mint develops along with soft citrus notes.
Finish: Cooling mintiness becomes buttermint and spiced apple.
Comment: A complex nose leads into a light, sweet and spicy palate with a few surprises along the way.
