Product Description

Tun 1509 is a limited-edition release from Balvenie where malt master gets to pick some of his favourite casks and marry them together to create his ultimate Balvenie. Batch 5 is a vatting of 29 casks: bourbon barrels, sherry butts, sherry hogsheads and refill American oak casks. The result is a rich and fruity dram, balancing spice and dark sherry-cask character against elegant oak.

    This is one amazing and special dram. Butter tarts, butter cream, vanilla, caramel and toffee all coming through heavily on the nose. Very creamy and oily on the pallet, with the sweetness carrying through. All sherry on the exhale, with a long, lingering finish of some apples and spices. Supposed to be a “special occasion” bottle, but I just can’t help myself.
