Russian Standard vodka has come from out of nowhere to grab a large slice of the premium vodka market in the UK since its launch in 2007. A more authentically Russian alternative to Smirnoff.

I tried this and was surprised as I've been used to Smirnoff and other budget brands. It is much drier and gutsier than Smirnoff. This may be down to being a grain vodka. Little or no sugar added means this is a drink for the grown ups. I tried it with cranberry and loved it. It seems to work well with mixed drinks so it's a shoe in for vodka cocktails. Being more Russian in style, it absolutely needs to be chilled or served over ice to drink neat. At room temperature it's really gutsy. It reminds me of weirdly of the complexity and forthrightness of Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum. It spends a long time on the palate. At the price I paid it was a steal.

One of my favorite Vodkas, bold clean taste and a mellow bite. Makes an excellent Martini.

For $30 Australian, this is about as best value you can buy. It's a great Vodka, and while missing the subtlies of Ciroc, Belverder and Grey Goose - it's HALF the price and just as good.

Quality, honest, smooth. Does not contain additives that many modern vodkas do.

Smooth and clean, I find it best served chilled.

Very smooth, with what could almost be described as an initial sweetness, then it slips down without a fight. I like straight, and straight from the freezer.

Very smooth stuff even at room temperature. Doesn't beat the best but does well for the price.

extremely smooth vodka, ideal for mixing as a caesar.

Probably the best buy vodka. It's even cheaper in France. It beats all the other cheap vodkas. Of course it's better used in cocktails than straight on the rocks.

I don't know why you had a hangover from this, I've had a lot of it and always feel surprisingly well the next day. Very easy to drink, clean and delicious. Not quite as good as the old Green Mark though.
