Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Nose
Apples, pears and unripe nectarines leading vanilla cream, polished oak and spiced shortbread. Exotic notes of sour physalis and sweet papaya build, joined by more shortbread and a slice of lemon drizzle cake.
Palate
Rich and oily spirit with toffee and vanilla cream chased by layers of fruit: sour apples and unripe pears, crisp sweet green apples and just-ripe pears, green mango, papaya, pineapple and gummi bears. Spiced sponge cake and light fruitcake develops along with wax-polished oak and hints of fruity dark chocolate.
Finish
Spicy oak slowly fades to leave aniseed balls, apple sauce and crisp pear.

John Jameson is a monumental figure in Irish whiskey. From his Bow Street distillery in Dublin’s Smithfield, he cemented his name in history, making whiskies that were exported all over the world. During the dark days of the 20th century, when the industry was in decline, Jameson helped keep Irish distilling alive and maintain its traditions for the future.
Made in Ireland
This blend of whiskies, distilled and aged for at least 23 years at Midleton distillery in County Cork, has the same core of fresh fruitiness that made Jameson a household name. After long ageing in American oak barrels and oloroso sherry casks, that essential character is concentrated and refined, layered with tropical notes of mango and passionfruit alongside hazelnut cream and chocolate brownies.
The Story of Irish Whiskey
Ireland has been one of the most important places in the history of whiskey since the arrival of the first pot stills centuries ago. Read more about this ancient distilling tradition, from the Victorian boom that made Irish whiskey world famous, to the new wave of producers shaping the industry’s future.
