A very handsomely presented decanter-style bottle of Plantation Extra Old rum from Barbados. Unusually, the rums are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks, before being transported to the Charente (home of the bottlers, Cognac producer Ferrand) and undergoing a second maturation in small French oak casks. 94 points from the Beverage Testing Institute in Chicago.

I have never left an online review for any product, as I am a bit of a Luddite, but this plantation rum really is the best I have tried. I agree with the other reviewers, concerning taste . Drink neat only to appreciate the flavour. Enjoy
I was given this rum as a gift and it is without a doubt one of the best plain style rums I have tried. Its smooth in the palate and the aromas of light coconut, vanilla and subtle toffee and banana are delicious. Its a rum which shouldn''t be spoilt with mixers, neat or with ice.
Brought this for my father, he is a whiskey man but is not adverse to a good rum And wow what a great rum his is, seriously one of the best we have had and for this price it makes it a stunning deal!
This is the best i have tryed so far
Amazing! Superbly smooth and easy to drink, can have it plain or with ice (too good for a mixer) its hard to stop at just one!
This was my first premium rum purchase as I wanted to branch out from whisky. Absolutely stunned by it on first sip. So smooth, beguiling flavour, amazing mouth-feel. I have tried a lot of whiskies and I will be trying a lot of rums after this. Banana, date, vanilla, gentle oak, but more than the sum of its flavours.
A lovely supping rum. Had a couple of glasses in a restaurant a few weeks ago. Ordered a bottle the next day. I agree with a previous review that it slightly edges the Ron Zacapa.
Absolutely superb. Pound for pound my sipping friends and I rate this as highly, if not better, than the Zacapa XO - at half the price. My be a slight bias as I generally favour Bajan aged amber rums, but definitely worth a try if you like similar.
My father and I tried this at a restaurant recently and both loved it so much I couldn't resist ordering a couple of bottles. Rich flavours of vanilla, coconut and tropical fruit. A truly outstanding rum and well worth every penny.
I have found a bridge between Rhum & Cognac with this exceptional beverage. The best sipping rhum for the money.
