Product Description

This rum cask finished single malt is the third and final release in the Epicurean Odyssey series. Designed by malt master Maureen Robinson, this 40-year-old Glen Ord underwent a secondary maturation of almost three decades in ex-rum casks before marrying in Ron Zacapa XO solera casks. The result is a rich and luscious whisky with notes of velvety dark chocolate, juicy plums, toffee covered tropical fruits a and just a hint of waxy smoke.

The Epicurean Odyssey series was created to embody the Singleton’s pursuit of new frontiers in flavour. With each expression, malt master Maureen Robinson sets out to push the boundaries of maturation, using experimental casks to add layers of complexity to these indulgent single malts. For this final instalment, a 12-year-old Glen Ord was transferred to a series of rum casks where it underwent a jaw-dropping 28 year secondary maturation

The Singleton collection of whiskies was introduced in 2006, to showcase the single malts of three acclaimed Scottish distilleries; Dufftown, Glen Ord and Glendullan. The range offers an introduction to the history and legacy of each distillery and showcases their particular styles, from the spicy, nutty single malts of Dufftown, to Glendullan's fruity and grassy character, and the vibrant freshness of Glen Ord.
