Beefeater's Borrough's Reserve Gin is made to founder James Burrough's original 1860 recipe. Distilled by hand using his original 'Still number 12' with a 268 litre capacity, it is then rested in French oak barrels which used to contain Lillet - the first gin ever to do so. There are notes of citrus and subtle spice.Tasting Notes (1)
Tasting notes by SummerFruitCup
Juniper, orange, dark caramel and woody spice.
Soft texture, with plenty of vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg up front. Whilst quite sweet to start, this moves on to a dryer, slightly tannin-like flavour, then the classic juniper and angelica gin flavours with a little citrus, before finishing with some vanilla oaky notes.
More from Beefeater
An exceptional gin: the only one that I would be happy to drink neat. While retaining the essential flavour of juniper, the oak Lillet casks mellow it and add depth; a most satisfying aperatif, or after dinner drink.
Got this for my dads birthday and he absolutely loved it- he said he hadn't tasted anything like this in a long time
