Tasting Notes by Stuart P
Nose: Baked apples, rich toasted spices (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg), orange blossom, green apples and some sweet citrus – lemon curd, perhaps. Lovely balance; nothing dominates.
Palate: The sweet, sticky Pedro Ximénez sherry cask makes its presence felt here, with lovely rich and ripe raisins and sultanas taking charge, along with notes of honey, Christmas-cake spices and fresh fig.
Finish: The sweet, rich fruit lingers and invites you to take another sip. Very moreish.
Comment: What impresses about this bottling is the precision and class on show. The rich fruit and spice never feels overblown, too, which is another plus. Very impressive.

I think this is really excellent. I get cinnamon, dried ginger, toffee, wood and maybe some cocoa on the nose. The palette is a rich, spicy fruit pie. Yet more dried ginger on the finish along with some citrus. Loads going on and great balance. Cannot go wrong at under ?40 in my view.
The most refined 12 I have ever tasted
As good as the 15 yr old Pedro Ximenez I tried a while ago. Sweet, clean, & one I would recommend & buy again.
Almost like having a latte! Great chocolatey&creamy malt with sherry notes wholehearteldy supporting the freshness of the malt itself. More accesible than eg,. Glendronach 12yo. Really a great value for money!
