Exclusive to The Whisky Exchange, this is a single cask rum from the famed Hampden distillery – LROK is the Hampden mark for rums with an ester level of between 300-400g/hlAA. The nose holds delightful candied aromas of green apple and watermelon Jolly Ranchers, hints of cherry, green banana, sweet spice, acacia honey, dried oregano and some earthy spices. On the palate banana bread, black cherry, red plum, hints of cinnamon bark, cardamom with a touches of sweet smoke and vanilla.

Tasting Notes

- Nose
  Fresh banana peel and roasted bananas, with a background of warm leather and thick, fruity caramel. More fruit and sweet-shop notes follow: strawberries, pink shrimp sweets, orange, lemon and pineapple. Sweet heather honey and maple syrup bring up the rear.
- Palate
  Intense, with an initial barrage of rich toffee unfolding into stewed apples, overripe bananas and freshly pressed citrus peel, tingly with with oils. The leathery notes from the nose develop, along with singed caramel, roasted pineapple and barrel char. Liquorice rises from the depths, followed by spicy cinnamon and clove. Polished wood rounds things out with layers of waxy lacquer and oaky spice.
- Finish
  Underlying mint and menthol is covered with char, gravel, toffee and old, wax-polished oak. The sweetness fades, leaving dry spice to softly fade.
