Product Description

Bottled exclusively for The Whisky Exchange, this single cask whisky marks the first UK exclusive from Ki One, Korea’s first single malt whisky producer. It was aged in a new American oak cask and opens with a sweet and fruity nose that leads to a rounded palate of marzipan, vanilla custard, milk chocolate and dry oak spice in the finish. Barley is hard to come by in Korea, but this whisky was mde entirely from local grain: 70% grown and malted at the country’s only maltings, with the remaining 30% cultivated by the distillery itself in Gunsan.

    First tried this back in October at the Whisky show and finally got around to picking up a bottle. Strong sweet vanilla custard notes. Orange peel. Oak spice and almost bitter herbs that compliment the profile. The best way to describe it would be a ready made custard old-fashioned. Unique and a great bottle for the collection. I look foward to what this newer distiller does in the future once they have some age statement releases.
