Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by Dave Broom
Nose
Fish market, light smoke and flowers. Weetabix and bourbon biscuits. Very intriguing.
Palate
The chocolate hit is immediate. Explosive smoke ignites in the middle. Deep and quite rugged. Well put together.
Finish
Long, gently smoky.
Comments
Water smooths it down, but the rugged edge is what makes this a winner.
Tasting Notes by Tim F
Nose
Slightly volatile. Honey, iodine, medicinal peaty notes. Faint hints of fresh mint, sea spray and cough mixture.
Palate
Warming peat, soot, medicine cabinet surge. Medium-bodied, with the honey, some sappy wood, apricot, white pepper, woodsmoke, and smoked fish developing.
Finish
Warm, long, honeyed, spiced and slightly drying as the oak makes a comeback.
Comment
A nicely balanced, slightly fiery teenager.
