    4.5 (5 Reviews)

Balvenie 2003 Peat Week / 14 Year Old

While Balvenie is best known for producing traditional soft and honeyed Speyside whisky, for one week a year it makes bold and smoky whisky – Peat Week. This second release was distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2018 at 14 years old. The distillery uses Speyside peat, giving the whisky a very different character to smoky drams from the island: delicate and gently smoky.

Benrinnes 15 Year Old / Flora & Fauna

A very interesting dram, the only Speysider to be triple-distilled like a Lowland malt or Irish whiskey, but with a lot more body and character than either of those styles. Impressive stuff.

    Four Roses Small Batch Bourbon

A terrific small-batch bourbon from Four Roses – and in this case, Small Batch means just that – only four casks are used in the construction of each release. Sweet and spicy, with a generous dash of vanilla, this is a treat.

  • WhistlePig Amburana Rye / 12 Year Old / TWE Exclusive

    Straight Rye Whiskey

    75cl / 43%

WhistlePig Amburana Rye / 12 Year Old / TWE Exclusive

A specially-selected whiskey bottled just for The Whisky Exchange. When we tried a sample of this rare amburana-matured whiskey, we immediately asked WhistlePig if we could have some as an exclusive, and after much begging they said yes. This 12-year-old Indiana-distilled rye whiskey was finished by WhistlePig in a a cask made of south-American amburana wood. It's very rarely seen in whisky-making, more commonly being used to age cachaca, and it adds a unique fragrant character to the whiskey that makes it like nothing else. A must-try for all fans of American whiskey.
