Even at four years, the sherry influence is undeniable, as chocolate, salted caramel, dried strawberries and flaked almonds on the nose lead to a palate that’s rich and fruity, with additional notes of dark brown sugar, chocolate orange, cinnamon and black pepper. Proof, if it were needed, that Islay single malts are great at any age.

Our search for the perfect whisky to evoke Sagittarius the archer took us to the island of Islay and a single first fill sherry butt from Bunnahabhain. The moment we sampled this whisky, we knew we had found the combination of power and charm we were looking for. After just four years ageing in oak, the sherry influence is intense and vivid, with notes of dried strawberries, almonds, raisins, liquorice and spicy European oak. Proof, if it were needed, that Islay single malts are great at any age.

We were inspired to create this series of specially selected whiskies by the 12 signs of the zodiac. We scoured Scotland in search of casks with the perfect combination of flavours to evoke the character and feel of these ancient archetypes. Each bottling created for The Zodiac Series is limited to the outturn of a single cask and is offered without chill filtration or added colouring.
