Scorpio is a sign associated with the determined, passionate and steadfast, all qualities that fit a certain prestigious Speyside distillery just outside of Craigellachie, who have a long and proud history with sherry-matured whisky.

On the nose are classic heavy sherried notes of fruitcake, stewed raisins, dark chocolate and baking spices. That continues onto the full, sweet palate, as maraschino cherries, juicy dates and molasses all join this rich after-dinner dram.

People born under the constellation Scorpius are often described as passionate, steadfast and strong – all qualities we kept in mind when searching for the perfect Scorpio single malt. We selected this bold and powerful whisky from an iconic and prestigious distillery just outside of Craigellachie in Speyside, where it was filled into a single sherry cask back in 2009. After 15 years ageing, it has exactly the intensity and deep layers of flavour we were looking for along with notes of candied orange peel, cherries, cigar boxes and dark sherry. A dram to enjoy with friends, after dinner, under the night sky.

We were inspired to create this series of specially selected whiskies by the 12 signs of the zodiac. We scoured Scotland in search of casks with the perfect combination of flavours to evoke the character and feel of these ancient archetypes. Each bottling created for The Zodiac Series is limited to the outturn of a single cask and is offered without chill filtration or added colouring.
