A great old whisky from Douglas Laing, bottled for the Directors' Cut series. Distilled in 1962 at North British distillery in Edinburgh and aged for a colossal 50 years in a refill butt. It's picked up lots of colour and has kept its strength, leading to an intensely flavoured and impressive dram.Tasting Notes (1)
50 Year Old
No of Bottles
Massively spiced - still very lively - fructiferously sweet & hinting at oak.
Tremendously vanilla'd - ultra sweet - full of fruit cake and apricot jam.
Softer now - yet warmingly spiced/gently toffee'd - typically short - but still great.
