Producer's Notes
-
Nose
Candied lemon peel and a touch of sweet melted wax give a full feel to the nose. A light note of canvas sack suggests a more cereal feel while over time white peach and more citrus notes develop.
-
Palate
Spiced pear crumble and custard gives something of a winter warmer feel. Mouth coating with a medium weight and the feel of Scottish tablet.
-
Finish
Long and creamy. Biscotti, apple crumble and custard.

I have had some fantastic bottlings from the guys at the TWE (their Glentauchers OMG!!). However, this one was not to my taste. Spirity, Esters & sour cider apples. I just didn't get any sweet\candided profile at all. Very fair price for a 21 year old, but I would only go 82/100. Just not my style really. Great with ginger ale mind! ;-)

On a last note, Allt-a-Bhainne 1992 is a great catch since it also represents great value besides being over-the-top dram. Speciality Drinks Ltd did a great job here with price-quality ratio, as usually is with the majority of independent bottlers, whose products are always available at the TWE. The lesson here is; customers should lean more towards independent bottling versions of their favorite brands, which often results in pay less get more.

Nose is fruity with wonderfully integrated flavors of fruit -mostly apple notes and a touch of citrus. Palate is rich and warm with notes of baked apples and pears, body is rich and warm, creamy and truly mouth coating. Finish is considerably long, rich, creamy and very well structured like the rest. This is an incredibly well structured and balanced dram. Very more-ish. Astonishing. 91/100
