Tasting notes by Billy A
Nose: Cedar wood and glacé cherries, sponge cake and hot leather. Dried fruit, earthy peat and dark dry sherry.
Palate: Intially dry and woody with big dried fruit sweetness bursting through. Sweet liquorice touches, blackcurrant jam and woody spice.
Finish: Rich earth, tannic red fruit and lingering smoked bacon.

Brilliant bottling, possibly the best AR release to date. Unfortunately the earlier ones are already gone, so hard to compare. Deep red colour reminiscent of an aged Glendronach. The nose and the palate are great, plenty of burnt oranges and rich cake, but you can still discern the smoke and the peaty influences. Long, lingering, sweet finish. Great drink, well done. Shame can't order some more!
"We can't reveal much", but if the AR didn't give it away, the side bar saying "more ardbeg whiskies" will. Ha ha. Made me laugh.
wow what a colour!
