Taketsuru's no-age-statement blended malt contains a high percentage of malt from Miyagikyo, with the reminder coming from Yoichi. Aged on average for around 10 years in a variety of different cask types, including some sherry wood for extra richness.

Fruit salad in a glass, this benefits from some time in sherry cask that adds richness and body.

Yes, I am tasting a dram now of the product presented to James Baugh on his birthday. It is excellent!

Fruity and rich, this is a fine whisky. As I live in Japan, it is found here for around £25-£30, which is very reasonable. Even so, it's good enough that I'd happily pay £50 for it.

My favorite whiskey hands down

A blended malt. Sherried, red fruits, hints of coffee and tobacco, clove, ginger, nutmeg, raisins, A complex whisky. Name can be a bit misleading for uninitiated to malt whisky, who might perceive this to be a superior malt in some way, reminiscent of Cardu Pure Malt lol. A nice pleasant whisky with an interesting complex blend. Not outstanding IMO. Reasonable price.

Sharp was my first impression, but more of an indifferent sensation because as it coats the mouth it begins to finish with a wonderful flavor profile before it quickly turns towards a slight burn that lingers. Overall I actually think it is a very good whisky for the price. I also tried it next to my 21 year Pure Malt, which is probably not fair as the 21 year is much more well rounded. I think its more of "apples and oranges" when you start getting into that conversation. Ultimately I would recommend sampling this whisky if you get a chance.
