Edradour 2006 Reviews
Tasting notes by Billy Abbott (The Whisky Exchange)
Nose: Thick caramel and raisin jam to start, poured over liquefied Crunchie bars. Gentle hints of charred apple, drizzled with custard, sneak in around the edges. Sweet barbecue sauce notes develop in the glass, along with red berries and sweet pastry.
Palate: Rich molasses and Demerara syrup lead through a pool of cocoa to aniseed balls, liquorice and blackcurrant sweets, and a pile of cinnamon rolls. More black liquorice rises from the cocoa depths, followed by barrel char, Cola Cubes and red liquorice. Touches of spicy root beer appear after a while.
Finish: Liquorice and cinnamon buns, stewed berries, winter-fruit pudding and then more liquorice. Minty hints linger.
Comment: A nuanced sherry monster, balancing spice against fruit and sweetness against char.

Very nice, complex once past the heavy but fresh sherry notes, some sweet caramel and raspberry puree to name a couple. This is my first Edradour whisky, I enjoyed very much, I will be buying more.
An amazing bottle for Christmas. Adding just a drop of water opens this whisky up
great, smooth to swallow
