I just love this Whisky. I bought 3 bottles and drank one with a couple of pals figuring the remaining two would soon be worth the price I paid for 3 and they could tuck nicely into my collection. This was indeed the case Until I had an epiphany and decided collecting Whisky was missing the point. I got a new Grandson last week and me and my 3 sons will be wetting the baby''s head on Friday of this week. Bottle number two will be cracked and devoured/savoured depending on how you see it. There is no finer drop for such an occasion. It is the best I ever had
This is what great peaty single malt is all about, and then some. Absolutely great nose: leathery, oily, waxy and greasy, like stepping into a countryhouse toolshed, with something like the fur and skin of a still-living game animal in there too. Very singular, a malt like no other (rather like an oilburner than the bonfires of Islay drams), and it tastes astoundingly good too. I love how it takes a moment for the whisky to settle in the mouth before the peat starts coming in, and boy does it come in strong. If anyone ever tries to tell you this whisky lacks something find better company to share this beauty with.
´I found it kind of cold and breezy part of the Brora show though expected more firey delivery.´ ??? for a fiery deliver, take a newmake spirit, this is firing on all cylinders. there´s everything in it to such an extent it almost hurts (in a positive way), sweetness, peat, pepper, salt, you name it. not only highest quality, also very entertaining!
A wonderful whisky. I bought 3 bottles, one for my pleasure and one each for my two sons. I want them back.
I found it kind of cold and breezy part of the Brora show though expected more firey delivery.
