This 17-year-old is the second instalment of Highland Park’s collaborative series ‘Between You and I’, inspired by the work of the artist Laila Gohar. Eschewing the distillery’s normal sherried aspect, this expression was transferred from refill casks after 11 years and finished its maturation in new American oak casks. This gives the whisky delightful bright orange blossom and vanilla notes with a whisper of leather balancing, none of which obscure Highland Park’s honeyed heather and subtle peat notes.
