The revived Glendronach Revival: a whisky whose original incarnation was so popular that we drank all of it. It's back with a new recipe thanks to master blender Rachel Barrie, combining both oloroso and PX casks into a rich sherry-monster that's packed with spice and fruit. We don't think it's going to disappear of the shelves again, but when it comes to Glendronach 15 Year Old, we always recommend stocking up.Tasting Notes (1)
- Dark Chocolate
Tasting notes by Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Fruit cake for grown-ups: not too sweet, thanks to softly singed raisins, and solidly soaked in bittersweet dark rum. Baked apples with plump raisins, brown sugar and cinnamon sit to the side, studded with glacée cherries and juicy sultanas.
Rich, thick and packed with juicy-but-dried fruit – rum-soaked raisins, prunes and a touch of chopped date. Nutmeg and cinnamon sit underneath along with sticks of black liquorice. It's more savoury than the nose suggests, focusing on fruit cake and bitter dark chocolate.
Damp leaves and a hint of mint. Raisins and dates linger.
Rich, dark and sticky, with very well balanced sweetness. A fitting Revival revival.

Incredibly rich and powerfully tasting. Tell you what I’m happy I bought it but I’m just not good enough at identifying the flavours yet. Punchy but not because of the alcohol. It’s ALL flavour. On the nose I’ve gotten raisins and dates and the flavour is nearly exactly the same except not raw dates but cooked because there’s a slight bitterness somewhere. That’s the best I could do. Enjoy this cracking whisky! (But be wanted, it’s a quick left hook)
First class beautifully smooth with lovely after finnish. Well worth the money will buy again.
If you like sherry cask whisky as I do, this is the one. Very much taste and quality for your money.
It's the third time I buy this bottle, each time I finish it I get a new one; for me it's a must have in the collection for a sherry cask lover.
A Quality Malt but I prefer the 12 year old as it is bottled at 43% and I find it smoother
