Product Description
A big, well-sherried whisky from Glenlivet, selected by The Whisky Exchange team and bottled by Signatory Vintage exclusively for us. It was distilled on 10 April 2007 and spent 13 years in a first-fill sherry butt before bottling on 1 May 2020. The result is a full-on kick of sherry cask, which doesn't lose Glenlivet's more delicate fruity character.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Nose
Cinder toffee and caramel sauce lead – thick and sweet with a touch of something dark hiding behind. Layers of sweetness peel away to reveal a core of spiced raisins and stewed prunes. The toffee quickly snaps back.
Palate
More intense than the nose suggests, with intense dark and burnt sugar notes wrapped up with vanilla beans, cherry jam, sultanas and spiced shortbread. Sweet toffee sauce builds, tempered by bitter barrel char and singed raisins.
Finish
Shortbread, baked apples with cinnamon and butter, sultanas and spiced sponge cake.
Comment
A great entry in our series of Glenlivet sherry bombs from Signatory. This one balances intense dark flavours against sherry cask fruit without getting too sweet, focusing on dark fruit, but still showing some lighter vanilla and cake notes.

It promises so much, good nose, thick mouthfeel, lovely rich Christmas cake flavours on the palate but it is too strong. This could easily be 10% weaker and, if anything, it would enhance the flavours but richness of finish is overwhelmed by power of alcohol. Disappointing when it could have been first class. It
You always take punt on these types of whiskies, I was not disappointed in this Glenlivet, burnt toffee, sultans and vanilla hit my pallet, powerful at 65.3%, though it left me wishing I'd bought another
Just what it indicates in the "style". Very thick and typical but excellent sherry flavor. If you are looking for the classic rich Glenlivet like old days, you must try one. It tasts a little rough (awakned), so I'm going to wait for a couple months, and try to make them smooth. I wish I have a chance to buy another bottle.
