Stone's can trace its origins to 1740 when The Finsbury Distilling Company was founded in London. The famous ginger wine was named after one of Finsbury's customers, the High Holborn grocer Joseph Stone. Today the brand remains best known for its green-label ginger wine, and a higher-strength red label is also produced.
