With 59 years of experience in the whisky industry, Balvenie’s Malt Master David Stewart MBE is renowned for his cask finishes and expert blending skills. The Rare Marriages series is a culmination of this expertise, combining exceptional casks to show the depth and complexity of Balvenie’s character.
Matured in a combination of American and European oak casks, married in a traditional oak tun, Balvenie 25 Year Old Rare Marriages embodies the distillery’s character of honey and rich oak, alongside a unique depth and complexity gained from a quarter of a century in wood.
Soft autumn fruits, runny honey, crystallised ginger and raw sugar cane. An underlying rich oakiness creates complexity and structure.
The initial bold vanilla oak flavours slowly dissipate to reveal layers of toasted marshmallows, fresh fruit terrine and cinnamon infused apple tart.
Exceptionally long lasting sweetness.
This expression boasts extraordinary depth; the perfect balance to create the most elegant fruity expression that hints at the most sought-after Balvenie flavours – bold vanilla oak, crystallised ginger and sweet runny honey.
