Founded in 2009 by Frederic Revol, Hautes Glaces produces terroir-driven spirits made with organically grown cereals from the distillery’s farm in the heart of the French Alps. Inspired by the beauty and power of nature, the distillery is committed to using environmentally friendly methods and technology for its production, from organic, regenerative agriculture to locally sourced renewable energy, eco-friendly transition glass bottles and more.

A reinterpretation of classic Scottish single malt whiskies, Indigene has a distinctively French character. Made with barley grown in the French Alps, this is a whisky with an unmistakable sense of place. Sweet aromas of candied fruit, peaches, almond, oak and pastries fill the nose, followed by notes of golden cereals, apple blossoms, lemon, milk chocolate, wildflowers and a touch of salt on the palate.

This experimental whisky is the first entry in the Episteme series – a range of whiskies exploring the different aspects of Hautes Glaces' terroir from field to bottle, throughout the seasons. R18P23A was made using 100% malted rye, which was harvested in 2018 from a plot on the slopes of Mont Aiguille, and bottled in 2023.

Hautes Glaces Vulson Organic Rye Eau de Vie

This rye eau-de-vie pays homage to the land the Hautes Glaces farm is built on and the springs that feed the distillery, named after Dr Pierre Vulson de la Colombiere. The nose is a balance of fruity and earthy aromas with hints of petrichor, which is followed by notes of ripe plums, freshly-baked rye bread, liquorice and agave throughout the palate.
