Herradura’s story began well before tequila gained global recognition in the town of Amatitán, Jalisco. Though officially founded in 1870, tequila had been made on the same estate for decades. The name –Spanish for horseshoe –was inspired by a lucky charm found on the grounds, a fitting emblem for a producer that would weather revolution, prohibition, and industrial change.
