Henrik, in these sulphured sherry casks are a real problem in whisky industry. Usually bitterness in sherry led malts mean sulphured sherry casks. Alas, only way to know which batch is ruined by sulphur and which not is to taste first. It's not always possible. I'm very sensitive to sulphur and every 1/4 sherried malt I encounter, is ruined by sulphur.
I dont know whats wrong with me. Everyone seems to like this dram but I just find it bitter and disapointing. There are some good tastes beneath all its bitterness. Did I get a bad batch?
Nice note of the sherry cask.
Top whiskey, great tasting, great nose and not to aggressive 9/10
Fantastic single malt. Undeservedly overlooked by too many. Linkwood was a key malt in Johnnie Walker Green Label (sadly discontinued blend of single malts). If you are seeking honey, bourbon oak, slight sherry notes, delicacy, and fantastic complexity, then grab this before it is all gone!
An immensley drinkable whisky. Strong notes of caramel and bourbon, with a medium sweet finish which gently caresses the tongue rather than attacking it. Fantastic value for money- highly recommeded. 88/100.
