A half-bottle of the splendidly-named Hudson Baby Bourbon - the first legal aged grain spirit to be produced in New York since Prohibition ended over 75 years ago. Unusually for bourbon, Hudson's spirit is manufactured in a potstill at the Tuthilltown Gristmill (a heritage site) and is aged in small new oak casks.

I get a smooth warm woody taste with a floral aftertaste. I think it's fantastic on rocks – overall a good bourbon that's well-worth the price

Horrific bourbon – you cant drink it neat or on the rocks. Its not even worth wasting a coke on as a mixer.

To the eye, medium amber in color. On the nose, commanding with prominent notes of freshly baled hay, cereal grain and caramel. On the palate, intense notes of American white oak and charred wood, followed by a blend of rye spice, subtle vanilla and maize. Finish is a bitter cherry cough syrup. Mouth feel is a medium viscosity. Overall flavor profile is characteristic of a young evolving bourbon.

Smooth and easy drinking, a fine bourbon whiskey. Sweeter than some Tennessee products, which is not unwelcome!

Very smooth, nice nose. Different from the typical bourbon, well worth a try. My only complaint was its such a small bottle and it's half finished too soon.

This is difficult to say but this bourbon was given to me because a very seasoned bourbon drinker was going to pour it down the drain. Felling the need to save it I took it but after my first pour and a water open up attempt I see why he threatened to put it out of its misery. There is no caramel or vanilla so zero sweetness. Not smooth unless you consider “hug” absence smooth. Has an almost grain alcohol like taste. Not for meat all. Agree with two other reviewers but at lower rating for sure.

One of the smoothest bourbons I have ever had. My go to if a bar/restaurant has it on the list.

Sweet, popcorny early on. Tannic dryness and a strange meaty feint note in the middle. Bosky and earthy at the end. It's definitely bourbon, just in different clothes. I like it, and its certainly too good for a cocktail! Think this would better suit a cask strength bottling though.

I would tend to agree with another commenter on here named Mark. Doesn't really taste like bourbon to me. Has a little bit of a leathery after taste. It's not a bad mixer for an old fashioned, or Manhattan, but I'll pass on it as a sipper. Would recommend Elmer T. Lee, or a nice single barrel Elijah for the price point over the baby bourbon.

I generally drink old fashions or Kentucky mules. However every so often I want a sipping whiskey. This is great straight or with a drop of water. A tad sweet but really delicious and smooth.

This is great stuff. A little sweet, a little spice ginger and caramel. I drink lots of bourbon and this one is outstanding and a bit different than anything else.

My favorite bourbon. Being made with 100% New York corn, it has a mild sweetness that I have not found in other bourbons. Finally available in 750 ml in my area! Highly recommended.

A bit of a job to peel the wax off but the reward is a very cultured tipple! Will definitely buy again....

Really enjoyable drink. Smooth at first but follows up with a nice warm kick towards the end.
