Yeni is a traditional Turkish raki, distilled twice in copper alembics. Raki is frequently drunk with water, the addition of which causes it to throw a milky louche - in this form it is commonly refered to as 'aslan sutu', which translates as 'lion's milk'.

    Very smooth during drinking but the aftertaste of Anise is quite strong, personally not to my liking.

    Maybe you will not like in first sip, keep to sip it until half of the glass even it is hard. Then more will come true... :)

    I lived in beautiful Bursa (Yesil Bursa) for ten years and came to love Turkey, the Turkish people and the Turkish way of life. It took a very short time for raki to become my favourite drink, especially before, during or after dinner, and especially with friends. Get a bottle to have at home and serve it on special occasions, though you'll find it difficult not to drink through a bottle in a week or so. Serefe!

    As someone from Turkey, obviously this is my favorite spirit. A word of advice though, do not drink raki on its own. Try it with melon slices and some salty cheese or you could just drink it with a seafood dish, especially fish with white meat. Enjoy!
