Long awaited in the UK and with a big following in the USA, this is Jack Daniel's honey and whiskey liqueur. A mix of regular Old No 7 and a spiced honey liqueur, it's got spice, sweetness, floral undertones and a long smooth finish. Drink over ice, chilled or even in a cup of coffee – it's rather tasty.

Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey Whiskey Liqueur Reviews

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Billy A

Nose: Pungent honey right off the bat – a freshly opened jar of crystallised honey, with a touch of earthiness to it – fudge, biscuits (British ones), floral hints and some allspice.

Palate: Thick and oily texture, with dark caramel (both runny and solid shards), nutmeg and allspice. The flavours remain rich and dark, with sweet milky coffee, dark chocolate and demarara sugar lightened by some candied lemon hints. There's also, as you might expect, a rich and sweet honey undertone beneath it all – lightly pungent and floral, with a real honey flavour.

Finish: Spicy and sweet, with cinnamon heat, runny honey and vanilla fudge.

Comment: Not as sweet or sharp as most honey whiskey liqueurs, with real honey flavour, rich sweetness and gentle spice.

There's vanilla, cinnamon, and... oh, right, honey! The honey here is not shy, but not generic, either, there's a nice floral, herbal complexity to it. Drinks smooth and warm, not overly sweet for 35%, and the honey's here, as is some dialed-back cinnamon and a dash of cocoa in the finish. A late breath revives everything. The best of the American honey-whiskey drinks to date. 89 Points

I like it. After enjoying a few on the rocks, I picked some fresh mint from the garden and muddled the leaves before adding a generous libation. Now it's my go-to for a warm afternoon drink. IMO, it's best enjoyed outside while listening to birdsong after a round of outdoor chores.

Nothing short of extraordinary. I find this to be one of the best sipping whiskey/ bourbon with honey available.

I could pickup vanilla burnt caramel cherry molasses perhaps some spice, more than just honey but this isn't really flavoured shine it's a blend a bit like mead . If you like mead try this

This is a excellent drink, one for a nice change for me between having single malts. Must be cold or as I have it almost on freezing point on the rocks perfection. A more easy laid back drink. Worth a try!

OK-ish. A bit too sweet and not strong enough at 35%, drinkable and inoffensive I suppose - but not much distinctive character.

I dont know how you guys are drinking it with coke as it is overly sweet and it doesnt need extra sweetness... I bought it and I still regret it..

As the name suggests this is more of a liqueur than a straight out whisky. For me this was all about the sweetness. The aroma and taste was just sugary honey from the end to the start. Having said that it's a drink I really enjoy because it's really refreshing over ice. This is how I would recommend drinking it.

Over the years after trying many honey liqueurs, whiskies and bourbons, I gotta say that the Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey has become my go to. I love this neat or on the rocks, I do not have the heart to mix this with anything. I would say that my other favorite honey bourbons and liqueurs are Wild Turkey American Honey and Drambuie, those sometimes can be a little more expensive then the Tennessee Honey in my area, which makes the JD TH my go to. It's sweet, reminds me of mead in a way, I get layers of honey, and vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, toffee and butterscotch with a smooth roasted nut finish. Really good, gotta keep this stocked up in my house, can't go without it. I don't have a problem officer I swear!!

I'm a scotch drinker but love JD Honey. Smooth and easy to drink, sweet but not sickly.
