I have had 2 bottles of this. The first I bought myself, and I was very disappointed; thin and bland. About a year later, my wife went on holiday and bought me bottle, not realising I had had it before but knowing I like Glenlivet products. The second bottle was a totally different experience! Very nice indeed; honey, a hint of ginger and malty notes. Can only assume that my first bottle was a duff - which explains the varying reviews here. I would buy a bottle again, but only if I could taste it first.

The best of Glenlivet. Smooth with a touch of honey in the taste.

Maybe I expected too much from this offering, as I generally gravitate towards Glenlivet products. I can't really complain for the price, but this is not a bottle that I get excited about when I am choosing my nightly drink. I have the Nadurra Oloroso and the 15, and both are well above this offering, although the price is not really commensurate.

Not for me...tried three times to understand why the distiller put this bottle on the market but I will pass the residue of this bottle on to my Brother who is a Grouse man so I am sure he will love it.

Glenlivet 15 YO is my favourite. I would not buy Master Destillers Reserve again, too young whisky for me

I sat around sipping the reserve and loving it, even more so than the 15yr or the Nadurra.

Smooth ,Honey sweetness,Fresh Slightly harsh afterburn on the throat,Sure the 15 or 17 will be even better

This is very flavorful and very smooth. The only disappointment is that it is only 40%, I can only imagine how great this would be at cask strength.

The classic 12 years old is much better

Delicious! One of my favourites of all time. Fruity on the nose, smooth and well-rounded palate with heather honey sweetness. The finish is too short, in my opinion, which just means I keep going back for another taste. Nice that it's a full litre because it goes very fast indeed once it's open. I've purchased 6 bottles of it on various trips that I've had this year, and just bought another one yesterday at LHR T4 duty free. Well done, Mr Winchester!
