Warm caramel with spicy fruity tones, decent finish... Not bad compared to similarly priced malts...
This is a truly delicious whisky - unpeated but rich in toffee and caramel flavours. It has depth and a long finish.
Actually really disappointing. I like my single malts on their own (or with a splash of water) and this does not stand up amongst it's peers. I found it harsh and bitter with an unpleasant aftertaste. In this price bracket, it's rubbing shoulders with the likes of Glenmorangie and Talisker, which although very popular, are amazing whiskies and leave this in the dust.
I was disappointed at first, it is a bit rough and Bourbon like. So I brought it out at a party and used it as a mixer. The best mixer whisky ever. Wish I had saved some for an Old Fashioned.
Nose - treacle, taste - oaky coffee, sweet vanilla finish. Would recommend the Fior that I tasted in August at the distillery
