Product Description

An innovative malt from this Breton distillery. The whisky is aged first in Breton oak casks before being finished in sherry casks. This whisky has a real marine influence, which no doubt comes from the distillery's coastal location.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Producer's Note

    • Nose

Fruity and elegant, it shows beautiful notes of citrus and apple, all served with salted butter caramel.

    • Palate

A fine woodiness changing rapidly to cereals, all with an unsuspected magnitude.

    • Finish

Hints of heather honey come to the finish supported by the cereals and enjoyable marine notes.

    Jonathan

This whisky has a great nose and taste. The casks it is aged in have been well chosen, must be the French oak. I would definitely recommend this. Only quibble is the strong alcohol afterburn, it is supposed to be 46% but feels like 56%. Other 46% whiskies are not like this! However this whisky is on a par with some from Speyside and is a sign of a promising future for Warenghem distillery.
