Redbreast 21 Year Old
Product Description

The oldest expression from Redbreast so far, this is a combination of malted and unmalted barley matured in a mixture of bourbon barrels and first-fill oloroso casks, resulting in a rich and complex whiskey.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

    • Nose

Rather closed and restrained; takes time to unravel. Tightly knit malt, lots of spiciness lurking underneath.

    • Palate

Mint and menthol appear from nowhere, along with a big, rich spiciness, and suddenly you realise the complexity you’re dealing with: cinnamon and clove, apple, mango, biscuit, oats, white pepper, but all well defined and distinct.

    • Finish

Very long lasting, with the spices and fruit all lingering. This needs time to contemplate.

  • Producer's Notes

    • Nose

Remarkable aroma spanning fresh tropical fruits, nuts and rich dried fruit.

    • Taste

Soft vanilla, toasted oak, sherry nuttiness with a dusting of pot still spices. Luscious fleshy fruit notes complete the creamy mouth feel.

    • Finish

Lingers, seemingly forever, to oak and pot still spices and then the final bow from the barley – where it all began.

    Anonymous,

Best whiskey I’ve ever had. Such a great nose taste and finish. It’s surprising smooth and almost goes down like water. This whiskey truly fits the meaning (elixir of life) very well

    Mike,

Absolutely superb, so smooth. It’s got that Redbreast character but it’s just elevated to a whole new level. I though the 15 was good but this is something special.
