Glendalough Double Barrel is a single grain Irish whiskey, aged in a combination of bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. Sweet and creamy, with butterscotch and honey from the American oak and dried fruit from the Spanish.Tasting Notes (1)
Oloroso Sherry Finish
Producer's Tasting Notes
Slight but undoubtedly rich with dark fruit; cherry, raisin, fig (with Christmas pudding notes on the nose for those lucky enough to know what that is) along with floral lemongrass and a touch of nutmeg.
Sweet and creamy on the palate, with butterscotch, honey and peppercorn bringing along sweet Bourbon Cask notes with dried fruit returning through notes of maraschino cherries and a pinch of brown sugar.
Lingering notes of ginger spices with a faint glimmer of almond to end a complex Irish Whiskey from start to finish.

Smooth and sweet, full and friendly this is a fantastic friend! Description of the nose, palate and finish are quite accurate.
A nice Irish grain whiskey. Smooth on the palate and an interesting finish. Sweet and creamy with honey and spice. Well worth the money and a grain whiskey worth keeping in your whiskey library.
I love the finish of this drink. I've been an Irish Whiskey drinker, but the spanish sherry casks give it an excellent taste but not enough to really mess it up. Perfect blend.
Fantastic Irish whiskey with smooth mouthfeel and a quite pleasant finish. It is smoother than many of the others I’ve tried and I highly recommend it for amateurs and pros alike.
Really liked this whiskey very different flavour than most whiskies mild and almost cognac like no harshness on the palate 4 stars
