- Blended Scotch Whisky
Compass Box's This Is Not A Luxury Whisky is inspired by René Magritte's 1929 surrealist painting 'Ceci n'est pas une pipe'. Consisting of 79% 19-year-old Glen Ord aged in first-fill sherry butts, along with a total of 18% 40-year-old-grain from Strathclyde and Girvan, and backed up with 4% 30-year-old Caol Ila, this is rich, full-bodied, sweet and smoky. A real taste of luxury. Or is it?.

One of the best scotches I’ve had. Top 5 easily. Particularly because of the high abv/proof the fruity slightly smoky finish is unbelievable. Me and 3 guys of which is a 6’10 pro athlete sipped it to death in one evening. Couldn’t put it down....
One of the best. I'm a single malt drinker most of the time, usually sticking with Islays [read: "Lagavulin"], but John Glaser has opened my palette to the true artistry of Compass Box. "Luxury" is a crowning achievement. It's perfectly balanced while completely seducing any lover of peated whiskies. It's mature, rich, smoky and refined. Worth the price, especially as a special occasion or once in a while type of dram. It's worth hanging onto for a while because each time you revisit it, you realize how special it is. Find this whisky. Enjoy those moments. Superb.
It's a very special whisky to be enjoyed
Wonderfully smoky and so complex, transforming taste. This is close to perfection to me.
Very good. Expensive, but it''s very good...tough choices
