Big vanilla notes, tasty, smooth, and quite hard to come across.

The 43% (I have one left) knocks spots off this - very "thin" - Diet Ballantine's 17. Sad. (Also turns one into Donald Trump.)

Great Whisky, but what a shame they have reduced the alcholol level to 40% (statutory minimum) from 43%. Not what you would expect from a deluxe whisky with a great reputation.
