Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Producer's Notes

    • Nose

To start, there are notes of orange Victoria sponge cake and fresh pastries dipped in honey, as if you’re walking past a bakery first thing in the morning. Peppermint sweets in a pharmacy follow, with mojito cupcakes and mezcal shots with lime.

    • Palate

The smoke was shy on the nose but becomes much more powerful on the palate. The palate is darker and dirtier, with cumin, salted vanilla biscuit and jalapenos roasted over a bonfire on the beach next to the distillery. It is rich and powerful, just like the stormiest of Islay days.

    • Finish

Strong smokiness lingers, especially at the top of the palate, but leaves space for rich salted toffee and vanilla flavours. Farmyard notes build as the spice fades, accompanied by sweetness and honeycomb cake.
