An intriguing liqueur created by East London Liquor Company's Maria Vieira for Gabriel Boudier as the winning entry in the annual Boudier Wizard competition. Boudier is based in Dijon and has made the town famous for cassis, but Vieira created her recipe as a homage to its other great export – mustard. Starting with a base of brown-mustard seed spirit, she then added black mustard seed, pepper, and both sugar and honey, creating a sweet and fiery liqueur. A zing of sweet mustard heat can go a long way, and Vieira's signature cocktail for the liqueur is a Bloody Mary – sweeten it up with a touch of Gabriel Boudier Mustard Liqueur, for a kick of heat and a more intense tomato flavour.
