Product Description
Twenty years in a hogshead can work magic on a whisky, and this dram from Miltonduff shows off quite how the marriage of oak and time can let a whisky sing. Light, delicate and floral, the wood has lightly kissed the spirit, giving it a little bit of colour and spice, while letting the floral and fruity Miltonduff spirit develop over two decades. A style of whisky we don't see often enough these days.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange
Nose
Vanilla toffee and sherbet lemons lead to a summer meadow, freshly mown and healthily stocked with flowers. Candy necklaces, butterscotch and sweet cream develop, along with candied orange peel and a sharp edge of expressed lemon peel.
Palate
Creamy toffee and caramel sauce, all drizzled over baked apples. A hit of sweet spice builds through the middle – speculaas spread and sweet black liquorice. Darker flavours hide at the back: fruit cake and dark chocolate. Sweet sugared almonds balance the darker notes.
Finish
More sugared almonds followed by apples, polished oak, and raisin and oatmeal cookies. Hints of leafy, slightly bruised mint linger
Comment
A perfect marriage of grassy meadows and creamy toffee – classic Speyside whisky, with a touch of background darkness.
