A lightly-peated English single malt from Wire Works that has been matured in a small selection of American and French oak casks. Aromas of caramel popcorn, butterscotch, cloves, ripe banana, apples, vanilla sponge, candied ginger, cherry pie, bergamot and nutmeg fill the nose, complemented by notes of chocolate orange, Victoria sponge, liquorice all-sorts, cinnamon, marshmallow, pink grapefruit and crème brûlée throughout the palate.

    Lovely whisky, bought after a distillery visit last year when this batch first came out . A lovely initial taste, with just a touch of smoke-this is NOT an Islay malt! The distillery is now getting into its stride, and the awards being showered on the various batches which have been distilled in the very short time they have been in existance show they are getting this right. Can't wait to try some of the future releases. One review mentions adding water, and that is to personal taste. However I have never added water to ANY whisky no matter where it has come from, or what strength, and this is no exception.

    Good tasting whisky with a mild smokiness and no bad aftertaste. Doesn’t taste like a young whisky at all. This new distillery may have a bright future.

    First dram was a bit harsh. 2nd I added 3 drops of water, that may have been too much. Third I added two drops which opened up them flavours nicely. Tastes a bit young, not too complex, but was enjoyable. Wouldn't rush to buy it again, but will definately be checking out their other releases.
