Product Description
This is a single malt that bursts with aromas of dark fruit, honey, and vanilla, leading into layers of marzipan, cinnamon and gentle spice, with a long, warming finish. The complexity of character is helped along by a solera system common in the maturation of sherry. Here whisky aged in bourbon, sherry and new oak casks is married in a large wooden vat that's never emptied, only ever topped up. A consistent and immensely popular Speyside single malt.

Agree with some other reviews: Expected more from this 15 year old. I can definitely smell alcohol, more so than in other 12-15 yo whiskies. I do taste oak, sherry, marzipan and ginger. Bottom line: 12 yo Glenlivet is much better value. 15 yo Glenlivet is way better than this 15yo Glenfiddich
No expert but trying to learn, smooth and satisfying. During mine with a little water.
I can say categorically that you cannot rate any whisky without taking into consideration the price. I used to be able to pick this up a couple of years ago for under £40.00. At that price absolutely 5 star. But nowadays I'm not so sure. Many whisky's are superb over £40.00 and Glenfiddich 15 is one of them. However price dictates 4 stars.
A bit less powerful on the nose than what I was expecting, almost underwhelming. A very smooth tasting whisky though, but with enough sweet fruity sherry influence and subtle complexity to keep it interesting. A good day to day sipping whisky, this is similar to the rich oak I had a couple of years ago but I think I preferred that just slightly, it had a bit more going on with the extra complexity from the wood influence. Overall I can’t complain too much, it goes down an absolute treat by the fire with a mince pie :)
Im no whisky tasting expert, but I like to look at the tasting notes and see if I can find them. Im really disappointed with the 15. Its pretty bland in my opinion. Not finding any of the tasting notes. Im not getting much on the nose either. I prefer the 12 year bottle.
