Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Rich milk chocolate-covered cinder toffee, all wrapped in fruity dark chocolate and served alongside a fresh pain au chocolat. Dried-fruit notes build: raisin, prune and a touch of date. With time in the glass, hints of slightly fresher fruit develop: stewed apple and poached pear. Marzipan and dark fruit cake develop along with a touch of rum cake.

    • Palate

Thick on the alate with ginger cake and brown sugar up front. Charred notes build accompanied by the dark fruit from the nose. The raisins are slightly singed but they are joined by buttery spiced sponge cake and flamed orange zest. A pool of dark chocolate sauce hides at the back.

    • Finish

Stewed orange and raisins slowly fade.
