The Schenley Products Company was founded in New York in the 1920s by Lewis Rosenstiel. They bought a number of distilleries in the USA and Canada, no doubt at bargain prices because of prohibition. At the time they were producing ‘medicinal whiskey’. They grew to become on the of biggest drinks companies in the US, eventually being bought out by Guinness in 1987.
