A liqueur, not a whisky (as some believe), Southern Comfort’s origins are in New Orleans, and was created by Martin Wilkes Heron as a softer alternative to whiskey and bourbon. Its original name, pub-quiz fans, was the rather less catchy ‘Cuffs and Buttons’.
